The old centre of Lesce

Lesce is one of the oldest villages in Gorenjska: it was first mentioned in 1004, together with Bled. The old village centre is now only a small part of the town; from afar you can tell it by the tall tower of the Church of the Assumption, one of the oldest pilgrimage churches in Slovenia.

Around the church, the old homesteads of well-off farmers and traders stand close together: besides Legatova domačija, there is Span's house at Begunjska cesta 2, with a small decorative turret on its corner.

The church is across the road: its bell strikes the hours and quarters during the day, and is silent at night. More on this
